Reusing marindade?

I've heard something about how your not supposed to reuse marinade, but that was with meats and I'm needing to reuse tofu marinade. Is it okay or is there still a risk for food poisining?

It should be fine, but for future reference you could set some aside before marinating your tofu in it (so you won't have raw tofu bits floating around). :) If you're really worried about food poisoning you could heat the marinade before reusing it.

i like having the little bits of tofu in marinade!  it adds extra texture to whatever i'm using it in.  i usually use marinade when i feel lazy and want to make a stifry.  noodles, veggies, marinade with chunks of tofu.  mmm.

I've never reused a marinade, but I bake tofu in the same marinade it soaked in all day which is a no no for meat. I would assume reusing is fine. I mean, you don't even have to cook tofu if you want to. To me that means tofu wont poison the marinade.

I consider reusing marinade (especially in terms of using tofu marinade as a stirfry sauce) to be one of the perks of being veg*n!

If you're really worried about food poisoning you could heat the marinade before reusing it.

Or perhaps marinate in the fridge--isn't that what they tell you to do with meat?
