Marshmallows for s'mores.

I'm going camping in July, so I figure it would be nice to get some vegan marshmallows so I can make s'mores with everyone else. Does such a thing exist? Like, the kind that I could roast over the fire? If so, where do I get them?
I know I have seen some at Whole Foods, over by the tofu, but they were like 6 or $7, for about 8 marshmellows. Too pricey for me, and I have no idea how they taste or melt. Sorry.

Hmm, I'll have to look. It's not something I'm gonna buy more than once, so I don't mind the price. I'd just hate not knowing if they'll work. Thanks! I'll look for those.

yeah ive heard that dandies roast well, but you better try to get them quick cus im pretty sure they sell out on cosmos really quick.

theres a cafe here that sells vegan smores - i think they use dandies and i heard theyre great.

Oh em gee. That is EXACTLY what I did! That is frickin' funny. What flavors?! I love Crazy Rumors. (I ordered from Pangea, though, not Cosmo's.) You are going to FLIP over Dandies. I ate half of a bag by myself last night (and even hopped off my elliptical to grab a few to eat WHILE EXERCISING). What a freak.
You will not be able to tell the difference between those & regular ol' Kraft Jet-Puffed. Soooo good. (The only thing is... And I'm not sure what happened... But after sitting out on my table for a couple hours, they kinda started to stick together. I hope they firm back up in the fridge.) But they are gooooooooood.
the last time I was at whole foods they had a display with vegan graham crackers, vegan chocolate bars and vegan marshmallows...that would lead me to believe that they melt. :) But then again you know what assuming leads to? ::)
I have only had sweet & sara or BP's homemade. I have not tried to char or melt any. I guess I should have but molten mallow is not my idea of a fun evening once it burns the skin off my mouth.

I forgot they had an A La Mode line. My favorites are the tea-flavored ones, but I got the Coffee-flavored one last time, and it is delicious! I have never been disappointed in any of their flavors. Hazelnut is a little strong for my tastes, but it was still nice.
I remember Colleen recommending those, and I was so excited because they really are my favorite chapsticks ever!

I'm kinda embarrassed that I admitted that elliptical thing, but oh well. :P As I was doing it, I was thinking, "What am I doing?!?!" But I couldn't stop myself...
Anyway, for what it's worth, I highly recommend the Ginger Peach & the Apple Spice lip balms. Ginger Peach is my forever favorite (I use in Spring & Summer), and the Apple Spice is what I use in Fall & Winter. Yeah, I coordinate my lip balm flavors by season. So?
I know I'm chiming in late and you already ordered the Dandies (haven't tried those yet), but I love the Sweet & Sara toasted coconut marshmallows. Marshmallows aren't even something I really miss or ate much pre-vegan, but these are delicious!
On the Crazy Rumors lip balm front, my new fave is the Orange Creamsicle (a la mode line). I also like the Spiced Chai (brew line). I have the Banana Split (a la mode) and Plum Apricot (brew), but don't like them quite as well.

Yes! So I have three new things I can review! The 'mallows and the two chapsticks. Yesssss.
I'm like willwolf, I was never huge into marshmallows pregan so take this with a grain of salt and I know this is an unpopular opinion but I think Dandies have a weird texture. Apparently when you have them fresh in Chicago they are amazing and ultra fluffy but by the time I got them here in SF, they were kinda...grainy? i don't know how else to describe it? kinda like you could feel the sugar granules when you chomped down. I'll definitely give them several more shots but I expected major fluffiness and was kinda disappointed.
That being said, I LOVE sweet and sarah and I hear they have new flavors...strawberry and like, cinnamon pecan or something?? they're not like the classic jet-puffed marshmallows but they are super good, kinda like little cakes!
FINALLY, i gotta try that lip balm!
hmm i heard that the store down the street is selling dandies... i wonder if theyre charging the same as the online places.. i just dont know if i care about marshmallows enough to spend 7 bucks on em..
