mixed together in the food processor into something delicious
Im sure some of you do things like this?
what other combos are great?
I was thinking frozen strawberries and coconut milk
Interesting... do you eat it straight? Also, maybe cocoa would be a good addition...
I think the strawberries and coconut milk would be even better with some banana added.
There's a recipe here for mixing pb with pureed pumpkin, that's always seemed like a good idea to me.
i just added the frozen bananas to the processor and put in some PB, and processed it till it had ice cream consistancy....so good
im thinking with the coconut milk, it might make it a bit watery...maybe i could freeze the coconut milk and use fresh strawberries?
Funny, less than 3 minutes ago I was looking in the cupboard, where the pureed pumpkin was sitting there next to the peanutbutter and i thought "....maybe?"
A weird combination that I eat regularly is ketchup on bread. mmmmm. Well, when I say "regularly" I mean "in desperate times". Still, its good.
But if you mean smoothie combinations in particular, I've been blending great big handfuls of spinach, a bit of water, a handful of frozen raspberries, and a drop of maple syrup all blended together a lot lately. You taste the spinach, but its surprisingly mild, and it really energizes me, more so than I thought it would. Everyone who tasted it so far agrees that its actually good!
Hey adamcrisis did you try that raw avocado soup from Ani Phyo that you posted the recipe for? I tried it, but had to toss it out, completely didn't turn out good for me!

i eat that! also in desperate times. most of the time i use can't believe it's not butter spray (is that vegan?) on my bread and put a little maple syrup on it. tastes like french toast or pancakes.
i dont know if golden graham cereal is vegan, i used to eat it sometimes. but i used to cut bananas in half, put a popsicle stick thru the middle of them, coat them with peanut butter and then roll them in golden grahams and freeze them. they were SO GOOD. unfortunately i'd end up eating all the peanut butter and cereal before the banana because it was so frozen solid
oooo that reminds me of those chocolate covered frozen bananas from the ice cream store that I used to LOVE. I suppose they are vegan, though, so they'd be easy enough to make now!

I did, and I thought it was really gross, I threw it away too
I mixed a frozen banana with PB, chocolate protien powder, and some soymilk to make it drinkable one day last week. OMG- it was soooo good.
I make crazy concotions all the time. Lately its berry protein powder with whatever fruit & juice is laying around.
cold leftover coffee with vanilla soy delicious and chocolate syrup.
My best soups have been "throw all the leftover veggies in a pot with whatever else looks good"
Ah good, so it wasn't just me! I can usually eat anything, despite the taste being a bit off, but it was too much for me. And then it left a pretty bad taste in my throat for the night. Shame, cuz it looked so lovely!
Mmmmmmmmm. That sounds so good.
I think pumpkin and some melted chocolate go good together.
Peanut butter and chocolate.
I can't think of any right now and I always think of this.
I'll post more if I think of them.
i have smoothies covered
Im looking for ice cream consistancy....which I got from this last combo

yeah, it was really really really bad....normally i can eat anything even if its gross....but this soup...
okay, this gross soup is intriguing -- especially since it has avocados, how can anything with avocados be bad? -- is the recipe around here somewhere?
EDIT: nm, found the youtube... it does LOOK good, too bad looks deceive!
okay take a bannana and if you want stick it on a popsicle stick and roll it in chocolate(Melted) then roll this in nuts and any other thing you want to put on it..like coconut maybe? then stick it in the freezer and let it freeze for like 30 mins(or less) just untill the outer coating is stiffend and the bannana is just alittle bit tuffend. Mmm these are Such a good treat. Maybe you could make one with peanutbutter and chocolate??? ;D
I work at a pet resort and we make these "treats" for the dogs that could totally be for humans (even vegan humans!).
We combine yogurt (either plain or vanilla--doesn't really matter), peanut butter, banana, and honey (could use agave). We blend it up, pour a little bit into a bunch of Dixie cups, and freeze. I've wanted to try one, but the yogurt and honey aren't vegan. A couple people I work with eat them and say they are yummy, though. You could make them into popsicles!

I made a variation of this that is really good. It's on this site under raw soups- raw green soup or something. I have it for dinner every night. :)
closeyoureyestosee- I did see your recipe, but I was really hesitant after the first avocado soup to try it! Sorry! I'll definitely try it at some point, though, and let you know how it goes!
adamcrisis- there's a recipe on here thats so simple, and REALLY good for ice-cream type things. You just take frozen berries- any kind- and mix just a wee bit of soy milk in with it. Let it sit for a minute, and the soy milk will start to coagulate around the berries, getting really icy. Then start chopping the berries up with your spoon, and it gets all red-colored and slushy! SO good! I eat it all the time. Frozen berries never last long in this apartment.
i make stuff like this all the time. i call it sorbet and it makes me think i am eating dessert.
i usually use 1 banana, a touch of soymilk, frozen mangoes, pb, and frozen raspberries.... sooo goood.
im hungry again
AmandaBrooke: Hmm...Ill try it again if you do
closeyoureyestosee: The pressure is on you now

Well, I use lots of other veggies in it. I think the problem with the original avocado soup was it was really heavy and made me feel kind of nauseous. The cucumber, spinach, etc help thin it out. Now- my ingredients are avocado, 1/2 cucumber, handful spinach, kale, 1 big carrot, garlic, 1 tbsp miso, edamame, sea salt, garam masala, braggs, udos, and salsa. (a good salsa is key!) I've also been putting some chick peas in, even though they're not raw, just for something to chew on. Try it, it's GOOOD! I guarantee!
i think the problem I had with the old recipe was
1- it was way too much miso
2-bland outside strong miso flavor
