Flax Seed!

Hey All! OMG! I am so addicted to flax seed right now! I've been picking it up in bulk at Whole Foods and I put it in everything--pancakes, oatmeal, peanutbutter, any bake goods I make, smoothies--whatever--if I can work it in there it goes!
Anyone else in love with this super food and if so, what do you put it in? I want more suggestions so I can eat it at every meal!!!!

I love flax!! i put it in my oatmeal every morning. and pancakes when I make them, waffles too of course. I've never put flax in a smoothie, but I'll try it next time! Soooo good for you!!
I put it in my mac n cheeze!
i always put it on my morning cereal (my how things have changed - i remember putting sugar on my cereal as a kid). hmm since you mentioned wanting to add it to every meal, it's got me thinking - i bet you could totally mix some into a bowl of stew or chili and not even notice it. sneaky and nutritious!
I also found tempha with flax already in it! my quest to have flax at every meal is happening!!! I'm going to try putting it into soup next--I think that will be good!

I love flax too! I sprinkle it on chopped apples, my salads, chopped banana...basically everything. I could not find ground flax in Sweden (and I do not have anything close to a grinder), so my mom mails it to me. Sometimes I even eat a little plain...
I eat ground flax seed plain too, it's tasty :) Does get stuck in the teeth though.

Yes! I hardly taste it in mine. Though I do like the taste in general. You can put it in so many things! I sometimes sprinkle it in salads.
I've heard that flax seed has to be ground or otherwise "cracked open" in order to get the nutritional benefits, so I always get the ground or put it in my blender if need be.

I really need to get on the flax seed thing again. I was eating it whole, just dumping it on my food, and about 3 times as much as they recommend! It gave me fierce "back door scoots" but then that's hardly surprising! Now I know you're supposed to grind it up!

I just buy mine in bulk from whole foods and dump it on as it is--I haven't expierence the "back door scoots" but it has really increased my regularity--which I am totally happy with! I guess when I get a food processor I'll start to grind it up a bit--but untill then, I'm just eating it as is--seems to work fine for me :) Do you think you can over does on flax??? If you guys don't hear from me in a couple days come looking for my flax bloated body! :-D
