Easter Dinner Question

I am kind of at a loss at what to make for Easter dinner this sunday at my grandmother's house. There will be (as like all of the other holidays we have there..) NO vegan food. The only people there who even LIKE healthy food are me and my mum. We've planned on making baked sweet potatoes, steamed asparagus, pan-seared garlic brussels sprouts and a dessert (apple crumble I think...). But we want something besides side dishes and a salad. Is a casserole a good idea to please the omnis? Or maybe soup? Do you even have soup at holiday dinners ???
What about a holiday roast of seitan or tofu? Do you have Vegan Vittles? There's a seitan roast in there, and there's on on VW, I think it's called "holiday roast." it would look really impressive, and might possibly make the omnis JEALOUS! A good dessert is a must, too.
No I don't have VV yet :( Anyways, I was thinking about that, but everyone in my family knows I'm vegan and wouldn't touch anything that they even think would have tofu in it, and I don't want to waste food :( They always have to ask "What is this?" or "What's in it?" to make sure they aren't eating anything "weird" like seitan or tofu. Plus my grandma would KILL me because she HAS to make the "meat and potatoes" of the meal, and having something like a roast would look like it's trying to replace the "main dish" Gah. She's so stuck on tradition it's crazy. She won't change her menu for anyone. Anyone who wants anything different has to make it themselves.. :p
You could stuff acorn squash halves with your favourite stuffing, add in some wild rice and nuts, maybe some seitan chopped very fine (sneaky). It would be a fine entree for you and a side for non vegans.
Meat and potatoes...in VWAV there's a stewed tofu and potatoes dish with a gravy made out of miso. i haven't tried it yet, but Isa says it's very "meat and potatoes."
I bring a field roast to holiday dinners. They're small, so they don't take up much room on an already packed table, and they look like meat, which means the whole dinner won't be a discussion about my dietary choices.

If they won't go near seitan or tofu, perhaps they would like something more familiar and hearty like a Minestrone soup, a pot pie, green bean casserole, seasoned potatoes or a vegetable stew.
Point. I don't share it with anyone.
My understanding is that your other relatives are cooking food and you're bringing the vegan component. Correct? Sides should be fine.
Yeah exactly. I've decided to make a nice casserole dish that I'm sure everyone will like :) I can't wait... (plus I'm bringing vegan cupcakes! woo!)
OK, this is too late for Easter, but file the recipe for another get-together meal. It is gorgeous!

With a good vegan "gravy" it will make your tummy happy.

That looks yummy...and expensive!
still probably cheaper than a ham roast though.

Excellent point.

Excellent point.
And so rich, it makes a lot of servings, so it goes farther.
