Brown rice flour sub?

I only need a 1/2 cup to make the vegan parmesan from Yellow Rose Recipes. I can't find it. Can something else be subbed or is the flavor of brown rice flour pretty necessary for this? Can I just grind up some brown rice? Would that work? Thanks ;)b
I guess you could use white rice flour or could just grind up brown rice if you have it.Does it say what type of brown rice flour to use? The rice may not come out as fine as the store bought rice flour if you grind it yourself. I've tried to grind my own rice and it still had a little bit of chunks but you could also strain it. I'm not really quite sure though... Good luck with it though!
I found this in the Cook's Thesaurus:
Rice flour (includes white rice flour and nuttier brown rice flour) Substitutes: cake flour (especially if the rice flour is intended to soften the texture of a baked good) OR barley flour (also delivers a softer texture to baked goods) OR pastry flour (also delivers a softer texture to baked goods) OR (for those allergic to wheat) spelt flour (makes baked goods heavier) OR potato flour OR millet flour.
