best blender?

I'm thinking about buying a Vita-Mix on Ebay and I was wondering if anyone has a model preference or different brand recommendation?  Thanks in advance.

I am happy with my Vita-mix 5000 with dry cup too.  I bought it at Costco while there was demonstration.  Costco don't carry it normally unless there is a Vita-mix representative doing demo.  I called Costco to find out in advance when Vita-mix rep will come to our town.  I did wait for 2 month though.

I have the Vita-Mix 4500 Turboblend, and I LOVE IT!! I bought it off of E-bay, and it's well worth it! You can whip up some great things! Like sauces, dips, smoothies, stuff like that. It's also great for making "raw" crackers, nut butters and nut milks, things like that. I'm very impressed with mine. The one thing I do find with it though is that you need to keep it on for about 1 1/2-2 minutes to get things completely smooth. Other than that, it's a great tool! I highly recommend it!

I love my VitaMix 5000 with the cry container as well.  I bought mine directly from VitaMix and am completely satisfied.

I have never had to run mine for over 30 seconds to get tofu completely creamy or to make smoothies / fruit ice cream.  The dry container works great and though I have only used it once to blend turbinado into casters sugar it was great.

I've heard that the vita-mix is wonderful...I don't have one but I will probably get one when my 'black and decker' cheep mixer burns out from me making green smoothies everyday. LOL
