i'm currently in western washington.... and i like canada. ;)
Come on up Baypuppy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Healthymomma, I'm interested!
Nice! Laine, we'll need to arrange something. I agree, Baypuppy, you could come up here for some delicious vegan eats. You are really quite close, assuming you mean the state and not the city... :hrmm: How will this work? I'm not at all familiar with planning something with people that I've never met before... my conditioning tells me to watch out for bogeymen. ::) Don't worry though, I'm not afraid of you! ;) Really though, where do we go?
I'm in Vancouver! I think I'd feel best meeting up somewhere public... not that I seriously think any of you will be scary, but I would feel better. Plus, there's a few really yummy places we could go. Radha anyone?!

I was just at Radha yesterday!!!!! :D
crap, i realized a bit ago that i didn't bring my passport with me. i can't go to canada :-\
I don't think you need your passport (yet) if you travel by land Baypuppy, can anyone else verify?
Hope you find a way to come up bp!
Where is Radha? I've heard of it but don't know where it is located exactly. My schedule is pretty open as far as time and date goes. How about you guys?
You do need some sort of id which proves your residency like a passport or bc: http://www.quoddyloop.com/border.htm

It's basically at Main and Georgia. Just check out the menu: http://radhavancouver.org/ :hotforyou:
Or if people aren't up for that, what about East is East on Main St or Rhizome Cafe on E Broadway or there's a couple yummy Ethiopian places on Commercial Dr...
you DO need a passport by land. it came into effect jan 01 2008. i was in canada last spring and they didn't even want to let me over w/o a passport then just because the law was GOING to start. drat forgetting a passport, it sucks!
ha, you should all come to the US and see me instead. ;D ;D ;D
anways, have fun! i used my passport last time i went (sum 06) and it wasn't too bad. getting back into the US is a pain. i wonder if i would be detained for longer for saying i came up to meet vegans. ???
for me it was harder to get in to canada than back into the states.

healthymomma,
Rahda is awesome!
volacious.r: I haven't tried Rhizome yet, but they're good? I'm open to meeting maybe next week or later. Any location is OK with me!
Anywhere sounds yummy, though I must say, every time I pass the Ethiopian places on Commercial I think ' hmmm, haven't tried that and I'd like to, wonder if there are vegan options?!'... so, I vote that we go down the Drive and check out a venue there. How's next week in the evening sound? I'm open everyday except Tuesday and Friday.
I'm good for Monday or Thurs. I've never been to Rhyzome either, but I've heard good stuff and I'd be up for either Harambe or Addis Cafe, both of which serve Ethiopian with vegan options. Really, I'm up for anything!
shoot, I think my best day would be Tues next week :(
I suppose Tuesday would be a possibility if it were after 6:30.
Remember, there is also Sweet Cherubim, which is all vegan and there are a few vegan options at Cafe du Soleil (sp?).
Sadly I'm booked for Tues night. Guess I'll join in another time.
Maybe we should just do it the following week then? What do you guys think?
Let's do it the next week and figure out a time that is open for all of us. The first full week in February is wide open for me.
I was at sweet cherubim today. It is awesome-- though it isn't 100% vegan, more like 90%, the rest being lacto veg. Let's decide on a place and time!

I've always wanted to try Sweet Cherubim. I've only ever bought stuff from the attached HFS there.
The following week I have 2 exams on Thurs so if we get together then I would prefer either Mon. of Fri. Sorry I'm not being all thhat flexible here! I really want to do it though!!
