Garbanzo Tacos
What you need:
2 (15 ounce) cans garbanzo beans (1 can, drained)
1 (1 1/4 ounce) packet vegan taco seasoning
lettuce, shredded, to taste
6 large tortillas or 12 hard taco shells
tomatoes, chopped, to taste
onions, diced, to taste
salsa, to taste
What you do:
1. Dump both cans of beans into a skillet (but use the liquid from only one can). Dump in the taco seasoning.
2. Stir and let simmer for about 10-15 minutes.
3. Add beans and other ingredients to your tacos, burritos, and/or taco salads.
Especially good recipe for those who aren't crazy about the flavor of garbanzo beans. The seasoning takes over.

SO HOW'D IT GO?
I had to register to this site just so I could compliment this recipe. I eat these at least once a week. They are super! Sometimes I put the leftovers in the blender with a little onion, chile, and pepper and it makes a good sandwich/pita/cracker spread. Whoever thought of this is a genius.
Good and easy! We'll make it again! Following others' reviews, I also mashed the garbanzos just a bit. I used Krogers (store) brand reduced sodium taco seasoning - out of all the brands that one surprisingly had the least amount of ingredients (and all appear to be vegan). Thanks for the recipe, I'd never think of things like this!
I agree...these were awesome. I used one can of garbanzo beans, a can of black beans, some onion and yellow pepper. I had them in a tortilla with spinach and cheese. These were so easy and cheap, but tasted really good. Thanks!
Sooo good! I used summerrs taco seasoning on this site and heated the onions with the chick peas. I also mixed up an avocado, lime juice and nutritional yeast to add to the taco... MmmMmmm :D
Super! I must admit I went into this predisposed to be underwhelmed but they were delish! Even DH likes the filling, tho eating tacos isn't really his thing. He just eats it with a fork.
such a great idea!! i used the taco seasoning submitted by yabbitgirl on this site and shredded cabbage, taco sauce and salsa with corn tortillas. very simple to throw together if you have tortillas in the freezer and a can of garbanzo beans in the pantry. thanks!
Tasty, easy, cheap, fast and filling. What more could one ask for in a recipe? I used cumin, oregano, red pepper, garlic and onion powder instead of taco seasoning (All the ones I found had animal products. Even the natural ones had whey! ;__; ) and it turned out fantastic. I never would've thought to use garbanzo beans as taco filling, but it's fantastic!
Made this just today and turned out awesome! I made it for a taco salad. I found taco seasoning that had no animal by products in it. Surprisely Taco Bell Seasoning individual package mix. I researched all the ingredients and all good!
Delicious! We've ditched the fake meat for good. Chickpea tacos here on out. Thanks!
I used this filling for burritos... yum!
It was so simplistic, yet so good! :)
