Bread?

Does anyone know if bread that contains Sodium sterol lactate is vegan?  ???

Not the bread issue again! hehe just kidding! I have also hated purchasing bread because the deceptive ingredients indicate the product most likely isn't vegan through ingredients like mono- and diglycerides, lactic acid, and sodium steroyl lactylate. Your best bet is to contact the company and ask if their products contain any animal byproducts. It's what I have done in the past and have actually received responses. In all my experiences, the breads I purchased were animal-free, so don't feel discouraged if you think the ingredient sodium sterol lactate is animal derived. Unfortunately, PETA's site for animal ingredients isn't too helpful because in many cases the ingredient can be animal or vegetable derived. This is why when it comes to bread, I verify the ingredients for obvious animal ingredients, like honey. Good luck!
