World of Warcraft has a PETA-like group!
For those who aren't sure- World of Warcraft is a massively multiplayer online game that like, 10 million people play worldwide. It's about elves and warlocks and stuff. I've been playing this one for just over a year now, but I've played lots of online games for about ten years.
I knew you guys would appreciate this if anyone in the world would. Whenever I am doing quests in World of Warcraft, I always skip over the quests that want me to go kill non-aggressive animals. I'll go chase down dragons and zombies... and I'll fight anything that attacks me... but quests like "Kill (some number) Shoveltusks so I can make Shoveltusk soup" make me cringe and I just won't do them!
So, imagine how thrilled I was to find these guys:

Druids for the Humane and Ethical Treatment of Animals. That is awesome. I'm going to do every one of their quests and become revered by them. And my guildmates thought *I* was crazy! Someone else obviously thought the same thing about those pointless killing spree quests! My boyfriend showed me where this camp was so that we could start doing their quests, which includes trapping hunters in their own traps and collecting their ears.
A little gruesome, but at least the Shoveltusks are safe!
hahahah!
There is only one problem.....
You're Alliance!
that is seriously awesome!
two of my good friends play wow and wanted me to come over and play with them, of course i told them no bc i am already too addicted to the internet and bc i don't want to pay for it, but when day when i was over they made me play for a bit and i had to kill some animals :o i thought it was really mean and they laughed at me. glad to hear other people don't like doing that either.
Oh, god.
I'm all for not killing the animals, but isn't trapping hunters in their own traps and collecting their ears also a pointless killing spree? ???
no, no killing is involved, its just Van Gogh look a like day
My hubby plays WoW. Are the hunters players or NPC'S?

ROFL.
And then they can tell the other hunters how they got their asses beat by a bunch of hippies. Show off their hardcore scars.
FOR THE HORDE!
Is all I have to add now.
Awesome! I have to say, when I have to go find pelts or livers or vulture meat, I'm not really bothered. It is only a game and as I pretty much play a zombie anyway, I'm just being 'in character'. But this rules nonetheless.
Dear jeanacorina: FOR THE HORDE! ;D
My hubby plays WoW. Are the hunters players or NPC'S?
They are aggressive NPCs. Basically, they are supposed to act like they are doing the Hemet Nessingwary quests (complete with phrases like "Yes! Now I can finally get that set of Nessingwary kitchen knives!"), which require you to hunt down all sorts of exotic animals to prove your hunterlyness and get phat loot.
I don't do those quests, I think Nessingwary is a jerk. I'd rather quest for Poacher Ears than quest for Giant Mammoth Tusks.
<-------------- Does this look like the face of the horde??? No. It looks like the face of an Alliance Holy Priest.
^-^
You can't get anymore carebear than me. I don't even PvP!
:-D

Ok, I totally failed at noticing Cali had got to the 'for the horde' thing before me but hey. I can't live without PvP now. Nothing better than smashing someone else's precious character into the ground. I love playing a warrior.
Admittedly, it makes me really sad when the baby seal face comes up when you kill an animal in the borean tundra and then you have to avoid the DHETA for 3 minutes. I'm like "But.. I had to.. for another quest!!" :'(
My hubby's death knight just found DHETA. He was laughing and teasing me about them. I just impressed him by knowing all about it before he did. hahah
I leveled my bloodelf DK up to 59 before going back to Warhammer Online. hahah
