We have so many Anne fans! That's AWESOME!!! Did you all know it's the 100th anniversary of Anne of Green Gables?

That is true! I think I'll go to PEI this Summer and head to Cavendish, to see Anne's house. It's just an hour and half away from Moncton. I'll tell Gilbert you said hi.  ;D

I love the Anne books, but I was upset that the last part of the TV series (set in WW1) has little or nothing to do with Rilla of Ingleside, her WW1 book. Why did they feel they had to change it, I wonder.

Here's what I posted back on page 1: "I don't know about a crush, but I wish I could have been around John Galt in Atlas Shrugged (book), I just wonder where I would have fallen in..if I was living at that time/place...."

In another thread (can't remember which), I was searching for others who had read Atlas Shrugged...

I  haven't bothered to watch the last Anne movie. I've heard it ruins the whole series for real Anne fans. The first film is closest to the books, and probably the best. I really want to watch it now!

This morning, I finished watching the BBC Pride and Prejudice miniseries and I have to admit, that Mr. Darcy...

:-D Yeah I do.  But, Kyle, and Sam and Dean are not drawn.  Kyle is from Kyle XY which was a series coming out in ABC I think, and Sam and Dean are from Supernatural currently coming out in the CW, one of my most fav shows.

Besides that all anime/manga guys are still fic characters.  So yeah, just 'cause they are drawn doesn't mean I can't whoo them.  ^-^

Yes!  Another Atlas Shrugged Fan!
Towards the end of the book I was totally falling for John Galt...Rand's words are like music to my ear...although some of her ideals don't really fall in line with mine, he writing is still amazing.

haha, I liked Galt (how could you not), but I TOTALLY FELL for Galt's Gulch (or whichever name you want to use). I really, really, really want to live there....it really got me thinking more about a vegweb commune (but that would definitely fall short). I was kind of sad that they all went back to the city! I agree with you on the words and ideals (+ it was really sexy!). I'm next going to read "We The Living."

omg I totally fell too!  I would love to live there...everyone there was so driven and passionate...oh yeah totally sex!! haha I had this image of Galt in my head, looked like an average guy, tall and slender but every time his character spoke in the book I was completely taken in.  I want to write more about it but don't want to give anything away for those who haven't read it...I loved what he said and did at the end though, I was like "wow...awesome".

I don't know if you heard...BUT a movie is in the works, I'm totally against it, mainly because I heard rumors of angelina jolie playing the role of Dagny!! Can you believe that!?  I think thats ridiculous...also heard that brad will have a part as well, meh.  I really hope they don't make him Hank Reardon...or Galt!  That would just ruin it for me.

I was just talking about this with a friend yesterday while we were watching Anne of Avonlea!  Part of me wants to see the third movie just for fun, you know?  In a kind of masochistic, "omg what have they done" kind of way.

Yeah, I did read that! I forgot about that...I don't think I saw anything about Brad, but I did see Angelina as Dagny! Totally wrong. I would guess they would make Brad, Galt. I REALLY stay away from movies of books that I'd previously read..b/c they are always extremely disappointing for me. Reading the book after the movie..is not so bad, though (which is not the case, here). I watched part of the 1949 Fountainhead with Gary Cooper..but didn't even like that. I have yet to watch Into the Wild...b/c that is one of my favorite books. Anyway, yeah...I think I would stay away from that one...

I asked my husband one day what he thought about the name Dagny....and he said it was ok..but didn't think it went well with our last name.  ;)
Do you have a myspace? I haven't had anyone to talk about this with!
