If you had a chance to bring back an old tv show which one would it be?

Beanie and Cecil
Kukla Fran and Ollie (the International Children's Film Festival)
The Friendly Giant---or was it the Gentle Giant? A Canadian children's programme from the 60's with a real human, Jerome the Giraffe, and--I believe--a chicken who lived in a bag to one side of the "window" on set. The Giant played the recorder (which at age 5 I thought was the coolest instrument on earth, and I still enjoy it) and had little furniture that he arranged before each show to make sure his audience were all comfortable.
Please tell me someone else remembers that show! :-\
And who could forget "Make A Wish"--the show that taught me to think laterally!
YES, YES! I remember. The Gentle Giant was one of my sons favourites as well. It really had a calming effect on a very active toddler ;D
Do you remember H. R. Puff'n'Stuff? The show was set in a place called 'Lidsville'. There is a section of the town that I live in that has been called Lidsville since that show, for a different reason. ;) Everyone & I mean everyone calls it that....even the mayor has been quoted using that name.

Thank you Jesse's mum (whatever your name may be!), for saving my sanity. I just IMDB'd the Friendly Giant and discovered that the show went on in Canada until the mid 80's!! Not in the States; it left PBS by about 1970. I pray they put it out on DVD some day. Rusty the rooster, with his magic bag that held whatever was wanted. Happy times.

JessaCita, you're probably right about SNL fave casts being a generational thing. I was in elementary school when the first season of SNL aired. My parents would let me stay up late every Saturday night to watch it. It was my favorite show at the time, and that cast will forever be my favorite. Each member was great in their own way. But I did love Dan Ackroyd the best. And for a short period of time I had a crush on Chevy Chase (back when he was actually somewhat funny...with all his pratfalls). The guests were great, too...Steve Martin, Lily Tomlin, Al Franken, etc.
After that cast faded away I stopped watching regularly. But occasionally I would tune in because there were a few really funny cast members that would pop up here and there...Eddie Murphy (as Buckwheat/Gumby/Mr. Rogers/James Brown), Chris Farley (loved him), and Mike Meyers (brilliant!).
EDIT: OOPS! I posted this in the wrong thread...never mind...how's that for a non sequitor! Guess I'll copy and paste it into the other thread...I'm such a moron. ::)

All of the Joss Whedon shows (especially FIREFLY, which only got one season!). Dead Like Me or Ren and Stimpy would also be awesome.
Definitely Dead Like Me. I love that show!
