Food consumption in the world
Remember at the beginning of the month, when asked about the soaring prices of food, George W. Bush give an answer that I found absolutely apalling. He basically put the blame on the people in India who were becoming more "middle-class", therefore needed more food of good quality. When I read that, I just thought, what a way to put the blame on others for something in which we hold a certain responsibility, no? I'm not American, but I believe that Canada is very similar to the US when it comes to their food consumption (or in most case, overconsumption).

In this article, they show a graph comparing food consumption between the US, Europe, China and India. You see that India and China definitely don't eat as much meat as we do. In fact, they eat less than we do, so how is it possible to even put any blame on those countries for the soaring prices. Maybe there is a valid explanation, but frankly I am still looking for it.

That is so Bushy! How dare those poor people improve their lives and take something from the overindulged! Boy that dude needs a reality check.
"Americans eat 3,770 calories per day on average"
Holy sh*t, seriously, no way!!!! No wonder Americans are so fat, that is almost twice what people should be eating!!!!
"when you start getting wealth, you start demanding better nutrition and better food, and so demand is high, and that causes the price to go up."
Actually, this isn't really bashing or blaming anyone, it is simply stating a fact of economics. He isn't saying it is wrong for people to gain wealth and eat better and more, he is just stating a fact.
I just read about what Bush said--man--what an ass! Any who--here is another article about this from the New Yorker :)

I'm willing to bet that Bush and his administration "won't recall" saying this at a later date.

How can he? He's a droid, and they reformat his memory occasionally!
