But what a sad story. If he had had the sense to take his pet to the veterinarian to be euthanized, we wouldn't react that way... it's just an unfortunately old-fashioned, DIY, cowboy, Old Yeller spin on the sick pet, I think. I am not condoning it, but I think I understand it.
I bet you he actually serves about 14 days. I've even seen deals where you have to serve three days a week. I have three day weekends, so ideally, I could commit some type of crime and not have it affect my regular life except I'd have to do laundry after work rather than on weekends.
That's horrible :(
Surely he could have found a less painful way to put his dog out of its misery, even if he couldn't afford euthanization.
