I have to go with Emily Deschanel on this one. I read an article online that said when she was in high school they showed a video in one of her classes about the meat/dairy industry (I don't remember) and she just up and went vegan.

I agree with Andre 3000. I think I'm in love with him. Also Common and all the guys from Dead Prez. They even rap about it! I guess I think it's cool because usually vegans are the hippie type, and they're taking it to a different audience.
"I'm vegan but I still gotta get that cheese!" -Common (I just looked up those lyrics and they say "I'm peakin but..." but I KNOW he says vegan! Otherwise it wouldn't make sense!)
And check out the Dead Prez song "Be Healthy." It will blow your mind!
Oooh....someone else knows Dead Prez!!! I'm gonna see them in concert in a week and I saw them live about 3 weeks ago. I love the song Be Healthy!

Hooray for Ziggy Marley being on the list! I love his music - first heard it on my yoga show and am currently collecting CDs. Him being veg makes the music even better. :)
I wish Jake Gyllenhaal would go veg because he'd then officially be the perfect man.

what i thought was interesting were some of the more historical figures on this list. pythagoras?? what was that about? and rousseau, tolstoy, edison, newton-- i had no idea. if it's still a little difficult to be veg now, i wonder what it was like for them?
also, it's kind of amusing to see upton sinclair and henry ford united on this. interesting.

Others are singers I admire especially Chrissie Hynde who has been arrested for animal rights activities, Moby and Annie Lennox (whom I didn't know was a vegetarian. I'm looking forward to her latest LP coming out this year soon.)
