fairytales too scary for kids??

Traditional fairtytales 'not PC enough'
seeing as this article is about books/stories....I thought this was the best spot....personally, I just had to :o ??? ::) at this
Oh please! The stories are a lot less scary than some of the Disney characters. Now Cruella De Ville, she gave me nightmares at about age 8, when the first Dalmatian film came out. And I found the octupus/witch character from The Littlest Mermaid unsettling even in my 30's.
But I grew up reading Grimm and other fairytales, and we all knew it was unreal. Like how many ogres do you ever actually see in real life? Kids see scarier stuff than the Gingerbread Man on cable or satellite TV every day of their lives.
