Maybe Jillian will be next!
sorry if this has been posted, but I didn't see it anywhere!
Huh. I thought he was already vegan? Weird. I was always skeptical because of all of those gross ads/suggestions they have on BL, but I guess he has to do what he has to do. Good for him, though!
yes yes yes!!! i am so happy :)
Ah that's awesome! I love Bob's workouts.
I loved reading this about him. My husband and I used to watch BL all the time and I always liked Bob. Even more so now!
I was so happy to see that he was talking a bit more about being vegan/healthy vegan choices and such. I thought he would be a real advocate, but I just saw his facebook status about "giving into a craving and eating egg whites." :\
Hopefully it's just a slip and he'll be back on the wagon. Although, I do hate it when they publicize this stuff. :/

Yes, the comments on the post horrify me. I just liked to think that he understood how important it is to spread a great vegan message to those who are not knowledgable on what it means to be vegan (most of America), but I guess he's just not there. Hmph.

i think the "vegan for health reasons" doesn't put much ethics behind your choice... it's like a "diet" and sometimes you want to "cheat"... it's kind of a self centered view on being vegan, i can see why some might "cheat" if this is why they want to be "vegan"... idk kinda annoying and i really hate that celebs broadcast this shit cause it further perpetuates that we vegans are all "weaklings" ready to jump off the bandwagon at the sight of a bloody steak or cheese pizza... like when coworkers say "i bet you wish you could eat this..." with the ethics backing your decision to have this lifestyle, you don't give a fuck how wonderful carcass and secretions smell... they are repulsive when you think about where that crap came from

Yeah, but that's the thing! I totally thought he had other reasons as well (animal welfare), because I know he's gone to animal sanctuary and other things. I know it's no huge surprise, but hopefully he'll come back to us for good!
Ugh. This annoys the hell out of me. I guess he really doesn't get it. When celebrities do this crap it makes it that much harder for those of us that do get it.
Or you could just ignore celebrities?
Sure I myself can ignore them, that's all well and good. I'd personally rather it be that way. The problem is that most people don't, and many people (not to mention society as a whole) are heavily influenced by what celebrities do. Or they don't know much about veganism and the bulk of their knowledge about it comes from hearing celebrities discuss it. So when celebrities go around practicing wishy-washy veganism or spreading misinformation, it can create general misconceptions about veganism and vegans. This also can create bias.
Yep, sucks. I think we can all agree, though, that it most definitely doesn't affect us wonderful "normal" vegans, and we can spread the good word!!! :)
I was disappointed because I really thought he got it! Sad to see that he doesn't. Bob seems like a really great guy, though.

true wordsssss
gennifer goodwin or whoever the hell can suck it tho... i hope she chokes on bacon wrapped meatloaf :)
I was dissapointed about the egg thing too.
I think the difference between a "health vegan" and an "ethical vegan" (although I'd like to think I'm both) is that someone who is vegan for ethical reasons is much less likely to "cheat". Because it's not about the diet, it's about the animals. You'd look at the egg you were craving and think about the wire-caged beakless chicken that has never seen the sun.
The other one who got on my nerves was Natalie Portman, when she quit being vegan because she was pregnant and wanted to eat cake. ...and I was like "Hello, you're rich, stupid. Hire a personal vegan baker!". Not like she lives in a rural area where you can't possibly go get a vegan treat. Or apparently learn to cook for yourself...
