Weekly Giveaway: A pound of Allison's Gourmet fudge! _algae_ is the winner!

Allison's Gourmet recently launched what might be the world's sleekest, beautiful, adorable website. Check it out: http://www.allisonsgourmet.com/! I don't know how you combine those things but they did it. The new site is the perfect showcase for what is the best candy I've ever eaten. I had to bold that so that you know I'm serious. I actively engage in exaggeration on a daily basis (mainly because I get easily excited by awesome things and have to tell everyone), but this really is the best candy I've ever had. The fudge melts in your mouth; it's rich, creamy, and amazing. If a woman could marry fudge in California, I'd probably be the first in line.

I want you all to know the glory of Allison's Gourmet, so we're giving away an entire pound of it to one lucky VegWebber!

All you have to do is let me know what your favorite vegan candy is. Easy, right? Or for me, a little more difficult because I have a million.

Giveaway ends on Tuesday, December 8th at midnight, PST! Winner will be chosen at random!

My fav-o-rite thing is my mother's home-made, peanut butter, brown sugar FUDGE! OMG she took my grandmother's old recipe & tricked it out Vegan style for me = yummy ! :D  :D  :D :D  :D  :D :D  :D  :D :D  :D  :D :D  :D  :D :D  :D  :D :D  :D  :D :D  :D  :D :D  :D  :D :D  :D  :D :D  :D  :D

Also, home-made Vegan caramels made out of a base of coconut milk and soy margarine. You break your wrist cutting them up, but ohhhh so geeeeeewd!  :P

Oh and Japanese Peanut-Butter, Dark Chocolate Mochi! Tastes like a Peanut-Butter Cup, but with rice dough to make it chewy. Mmmmm   ;)b

When I feel like being a kid I eat Laffy Taffy. The dumb jokes inside make me smile every time.  :-D

I also like hot ginger/peanut chewy candy!  >:D

I *do* have a big sweet tooth, so I am actually glad there are limited options for grab-n-go Vegan sweets!  :)>>>

Mary Janes.

I could not find any during Halloween.
I was beyond upset.. mainly because as a child, these were the candies everyone gave out.
no one gave them out at Halloween and I could not seem to find them at any stores, either.
maybe there's a connection there, ehh?

I am a serious candy freak so it's hard to choose just one favorite, but my current candy obsessions are Dandies and GoMaxGo Buccaneer bars, both of which will make me go broke soon. I am also thrilled that Skittles are now gelatin-free.  I reeeeally want to try this fudge. mmmmmm...

Ho boy, ever since I discovered that Canadian oreos are vegan, I haven't been able to put them down. :)

Also, peanut butter cups and peanut butter fudge ALWAYS do the trick!

I've veganized several of my Christmas candy recipies, and here is one of my favorites:

Laura's Almond Roca

1.5 c. organic sugar
1 c. chopped or slivered (not sliced) almonds
2 sticks earth balance buttery flavor

1 c. vegan chocolate or carob chips-reserve 'til the end
2 tbsp. organic powdered sugar (more or less)

Melt "butter" in a heavy saucepan over medium high heat, add sugar and almonds. Stir constantly until a dark toffee color, approximately five minutes. Bottom of pan may scorch. Spread quickly on an oiled cookie sheet. Sprinkle with reserved chocolate chips, let melt, and spread with a small offset spatula or the back of a spoon. Let cool and sprinkle with powdered sugar. Break in bite-size pieces and indulge!

Hi everyone,

My husband and I have been long-time (20+ years) ovo-lacto vegetarians.  Due to health issues, I've recently cut out all dairy and cheese products.  Still ovo-veggie at this time, but working toward becoming vegan.  (Have only been at this newest change for about 3 weeks.)

At any rate, I've never had vegan candy and would love to try it.

Cheers and many thanks for creating such a wonderful website.
