Weekly Giveaway: Appetite for Reduction! winner is mamarati!

Well, she's at it again. Vegan goddess, Isa Chandra Moskowitz, has written a book that makes healthy eating sexy and delicious. I'm impressed. I mean, we all knew she could do it for cupcakes and cookies, but Brussel sprouts? She's gone above and beyond. Appetite for Reduction (http://www.theppk.com/books/appetite-for-reduction/) is the perfect cookbook. It makes healthy food delicious and brings perspective to the phrase, "diet food". No more chemicals and fake foods, these are whole foods that make you feel a whole lot better. I'm also excited to see a book about nutritious eating that isn't just about weight loss, but rather about becoming a healthier you. Pretty freaking cool.

For your chance to win a copy, let me know what your favorite winter veggies dish is.

Giveaway ends on Tuesday, January 18th at midnight, PST! Winner will be chosen at random! Must live in USA to win.

Good luck!

Ok since my new years resolution was to add more raw foods into my diet I'm going to say my favorite winter veggie recipe is Raw "Fried" Rice. Cauliflower is put in the food processor and chopped up to a rice consistency..then you add in seasame oil (not raw but I'm not going 100% raw), nama shoyu, ginger, garlic, baby carrorts, and peas. It's super good.

Difficult to choose! At the moment though, my favorite vegan dish is a TVP baked ziti from "Vegan Comfort Food" by Alicia Simpson. But my special addition is my Kentucky great-grandmother's signature ketchupy spaghetti sauce in place of the normal marinara; it's made with ketchup, tomato juice, and tomato paste!!! (I use reduced-sugar organic ketchup.) Combined with ziti, vegan mozzarella meltable cheese shreds, TVP, and onion, it's the ULTIMATE comfort food for me, and just 320 cal/4 g fat per serving.

I think I could eat Deborah Madison's Soy-glazed Sweet Potatoes everyday.  They taste so good and are easy to make.

Butternut Squash - there is nothing else like it on the planet.  I eat it almost daily in winter and Iuse it or  substitute it for pumpkin in pies, cookies, cakes, breads, stews, roasts, tofu recipes, etc. You get the idea.
