Sorta New From So-Cal
Hey all! Been on here before when google lead me to something tasty :) but have decided to return and join after a friend from another forum graciously linked me several :)>>> recipes . Dont shoot me *ducks* but im not strict vegan or veg :o though i was a strict veg for a few years. I have developed a ton of allergies and intolerances (well over 20) last few years which threw me off the veg train. I generally eat veg, vegan, or pesca if im cooking for myself which is most of the time but on the occasion someone fixes something allergy friendly i will eat it. There are also a few special family recipes that dont lend well to substitutions :D . Im mainly looking to get more adventurous since snow peas, carrots, broccolli, crimini's, and brown rice (though i love them all!) can only be a yummy combo for so long.
Im from southern california, love growing my own food, have many animals that i love, and generally live like a california hippie (natural deoderant, homemade lotions/scrubs/ect..., long hair, and one of the few ways im not eco friendly is that i am not a full time nudist ;D ). Ive already made two yummy recipes from here today and a few planned for the rest of the week, i hope to find many many more!!!

Thank you Webmistress Laura :). I was a strict veg till i developed what feels like a few thousand food allergies so someday i hope to get back to that but for now im ok as long as i feel healthy and i make sure my food is ethically and humanley harvested. Thank you for the kind welcome!

Thanks amymylove :)! Yes i do feel very fotunate being in socal as i have e-pals in many other countries who dont have access to mist of the things i do. I am in a rather small town though so i am envious if people in larger cities :p what i wouldnt do to have a whole foods cloder than 45 minutes away lol! I absolutly plan to stick around, ive already gleaned so much wonderful info and im still searching for more. Im just off to search for rcipes calling for pectin!
good luck... if you need any help let me know! and 45 minutes to anywhere?!? i don't know where u live but it shouldn't be too far of a drive in OC to find all the vegan essentials needed <3 are whole foods, henry's, or mother's market near you?... i hope so!

Thank you :)! We have 3 different chain stores within 15 minutes or less but the selection i spretty pitiful when it comes to anything vegan past margerine, canned fruit/veg, and fresh fruit veg :p. Good luck trying to find agar, chia, or rice paper anywhere close. That stuff is reserves for the 45 minute trip to whole foods. The closest Henry's is even father away, Sprouts too, and ive never heard of mothers market so i wll look them up :).
