Hello hello! I thought I'd finally post an official 'hello' since I'm beginning to pop around the forums (after months of recipe searching). I'm Siobhan, 22, from the Bay Area but studying in London for my masters.
I'm on my first day of veganism. I'd been a lacto-ovo vegetarian for about almost two years, but for the past few months have been seriously contemplating veganism, and cutting down on the dairy and eggs, and after watching Earthings last night I had to do go vegan.
Looking forward to meeting and learning from you all! :)
Nice to meet you. Congrats on going vegan!
Welcome to VegWeb! If you need any help with anything, feel free to ask.
What are you studying?
welcome! If you want any tips on vegan places/vegan friendly places in London, give me a shout....I've just moved away from London after living there for 6 years.
Which area of London are you currently living in?
Tweety: Thank you! I'm loving it already!
Minke: I'm studying Child, Adolescent and Family Mental Health. (A mouthful I know.)
Shelloid: Oh wow! Six years? London is very different from California thats for sure. I'm living in East London. Tower Hamlets and such. And yes--if there are any good places to reccommend I'd love hearing them! :)
hmmmm there's a thread around somewhere where I went through my favourite restaurants, I'll see if I can dig it up.
But if you're gonna try anywhere I would definitely recommend Mildreds on Lexington Street in Soho (kinda behind/above picadilly circus) - and GET THE MUSHROOM PIE. Seriously I love love love that pie. I always felt bad that whenever I went there I didn't try anything new because I always wanted that damn pie. Yep, that's good pie.
found the post I made previously about veggie restaurants in London>>>>>http://vegweb.com/index.php?topic=23599.msg294356#msg294356
Oh awesome! Thank you for the thread, I'll have a look and see if I can go to any.
That mushroom pie sounds FAB! :) Thanks again!
Great to meet you, I always wanted to visit London, and the bay area too for that matter. I almost feel a magnetism keeping me on the east coast, it's like I only travel up and down it. I've almost been everywhere between NY and Florida. Congrats on going vegan.
