With the cravings thread showing such a divide between the salt/sweet toothed among us, I thought it might be interesting to do a bit of a survey. :)

Hmmm, I don't know....It definitely depends on my mood....sometimes I crave sweet, like after dinner, but during the day I want salty. Never bitter though. And rarely ever sour. I don't know what Umami means.

I was just going by the ones for which we have taste-buds - chili works on pain receptors. Umami is the taste of glutamic acid - it's the 'savoury' taste of miso, cheese, mushrooms, soy sauce... it's a kind of savoury taste. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Umami

Ok, then if I can't have spicy, I'll go with savory (umami).

Wish we had more than one choice. I'd go with umami and sour.

I have an insane sweet tooth too. Seriously addicted to chocolate chip cookies, chocolate anything!
Umami is probably my second favorite since I love CHEESES, like munster cheese!!!! Sorry, but it is the german influence of my genes, can't help it!
