Veggie birthday! What should I make?

Hello everyone!

I am having a family birthday party in a couple of weeks, i'm turning 20 and decided to have no meat at my birthday party! Only 2 other people in my family don't eat meat. I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions on what I should make? I need a lot of options, we're probably also going to be bbqing garden burgers :)

if ur going with burgers... make some potato salad... i have a recipe for this: potato salad (no weird stuff), the recipe for spicy fries on this site is also good or even sweet potato fries from Trader Joe's would be easy... also I can't believe this is vegan taco dip on this site is an awesome appetizer! Good luck :) oh ya the recipe for white cake on this site is good... u can make a cake or cupcakes :)

I second the white cake recipe, its yummy, I've made it for many birthday parties myself!  You can make an easy frosting using powdered sugar, earth balance margarine, a touch of vanilla and about 1/4 a cup of "milk".... There are lots of recipes versions of this but by now I just kind of throw them all together, mix and let sit in the fringe for several hours to harden.  You can color it with berries, or tumeric as well.

Tortilla chips, salsa, hummus are good too.

This cake is phenomenal: http://vegweb.com/index.php?topic=26796.0
Everyone elses ideas are great too! Also, I would grill out some veggies too. And some marinated portabella caps for sandwiches/burgers. Happy birthday! :)

Make macaroni salad with mayo, corn on the cob with some kind of herb veggie butter, and sweet potato french fries.

This past spring my daughter turned 7 and we had a big outdoor pirate-themed BBQ party for her. There were about 30 guests of all ages, ranging for omnis to vegans, plus several people with allergies to milk, eggs, gluten and/or peanuts. Here's what I made:

Tofu spring rolls
Chips, salsa, guacamole
Raw veggies and hummus
Chipotle mashed potatoes
Jambalaya (from Vcon. I make it with a lot of modifications which I thnk I detailed in my review posted in the cookbooks forum)
A giant fruit salad
Cowboy beans
Grilled corn on the cob
Various veggie burgers and veggie dogs
BBQ Tempeh

For dessert, cupcakes and homemade ice cream. It was a lot of fun! Good luck with your party. Happy birthday to you!

Happy, happy birthday!
It's really wise to spend your birthday in a healthy way. Here are a couple of my suggestions:
Instead of having a cake, you may try raw vegan brownies. If you want to go bbqing, here are some healthy tips on how to have healthy bbqs and if you want to make burgers, try to make quinoa veggie burgers. It's loaded with a lot of nutritional benefits.

Enjoy!!!
