They claim that this melts on Pizza. This is pretty much the only shredded (non-sliced) vegan cheese I can get around where I live. I bought some yesterday, put the Mozzerella on a pizza and it was very good, but it didn't melt.
Any tips on how to make it melt?
melt it in a saucepan, then drizzle it on whatever....that's what I do.
You may want to try broiling the last couple minutes if your oven isn't hot enough to melt the cheeze. I've heard others mention that the cheeze melts better if you mist the top with a bit of oil, also. I actually never have issues with this cheeze melting. We bake our homemade pizza on a preheated stone in a preheated oven at 500 F. Good luck!
Yep, oil helps. I have a mister, so I just give a little spray before I put the pizza in the oven. Also, turning the broiler on for 3-4 minutes works.
I just tried this last night, and LOVED IT! :)>>>
We got it to melt, but we were baking in a 450*F oven on a pizza stone. So good. We had both gobbled a slice and my bf goes "oh my god, I completely spaced out and thought this was real cheese for a split second!" Great review to me.
