Vegan Almond Bark/Candy Coating?

Does anyone know of a vegan brand of almond bark, suitable for making truffles or other chocolate candies?  I've hunted in my local grocery stores and googled it online, and I'm coming up short.  Help!

What's almond bark?  I think it's like white fudge, or something?

i'm not exactly sure what almond bark is either... is it that stuff that is flat and chocolate with nuts in it? that is what i thought it was but your description sounds different. what are the ingredients on the nonveg kind?

no no....almond bark is stuff that comes in solid blocks, that you can melt down and use for truffles (as acaciah said), or to dunk pretzels into and possibly add sprinkles while it's still wet.  I've seen both white chocolate (or maybe it was supposed to be vanilla?) and regular chocolate.  you lay them out on foil or wax paper to dry, and the stuff hardens up (likely aided by lecithin or somesuch) like a nice, well, candy coating.

we used to do huge batches of almond bark pretzels around Xmas time, often giving away tins of them as gifts.

I'm gonna go see if I can find any vegan versions......

EDIT:  hespedal, I did just find a lovely site where you can order little sheets of vegan almond bark with nuts in it.....I'd just never seen that stuff before.  as I said, I grew up with almond bark equating to covered pretzels (which are always DIVINE)

my advice:

I bet if you could find some soy lecithin, you could melt down any vegan chocolate and mix some in for that hardening effect.
OR, as some recipes on this site indicate (like the York-a-like peppermint patties, or PB cups), you could probably use melted down vegan chocolate chips, as they also have lecithin and whatnot.

i found a recipe that looks like it is veganizable with some silk creamer (instead of milk) and earth balance

That pretty much looked like a hershey bar with almonds!

Hmm, I wonder though, if the chips have as much lecithin as the commercial barks do?  I just want some pretty pretty truffles to give away.  Thank you for your help!
