Too spicy hummus

Yesterday, at the farmer's market, I bought some habaneros hummus, even though there was a little sign that said "very hot". When I had a few bites, I thought my entire mouth was burning. I can't eat it like this, but I don't want to throw it away, because it's still very tasty, plus I hate wasting food. I was wondering if you knew a way (or a recipe) to make it more eatable for a country canadian girl like me!
take a recipe from here for hummus and make it-then add your hot stuff to the stuff you make. i think once you make your own you will like it better anyway, and then you can quit wasting money on those expensive little tubs!
although, I have to admit, sometimes I buy a tub when Im feeling lazy
if you dont have all the ingredients, maybe just take a can of drained chic peas, blend them up, and then add your hot stuff.

I wish! I've tried several hummus' (hummusi?), and I cannot get it anywhere near as good as our local bakery's hummus. We don't buy it that often...but it's so fabulous..it's our little treat, sometimes.
And I would just add it..to something. Hopefully that will make all of something a little spicy..and not TOO spicy.
try this one:

its the best i have tried, and make sure you read and follow the directions!
not QUITE as good as real mediterranean places, but better than store bought or regular restaurant hummus.

I tried that one, silly! My picture's right there on top. ;) It was ok...
What BP said...also, add a little home-mashed potato, which is bland enough to help absorb the "too muchness" of many things..salt, spice, whatever.
Hey, I made that recipe for hummus that L2A recommended... yum yum! The hubby and I devoured the whole batch in record time, when both of us only meant to have a bite.
I finally ate it all without mixing it. I either got used to its spiciness or my tastebuds were too burned to feel anything. :>
But it is true, I should make my own. But this guy who makes them at the local market used to be my neighbour, and he makes all kind of hummus and they're very good. Hard to resist :D
I will try the recipes on here for sure. :)
Damn! I wish I could find some habanero hummus.....I come from a long line of chileheads!

Me too. Yum!
I have some Jamaican Red Savina plants but they aren't producing yet. Once they are I shall have to make my own!!
