I want to make a "cheese"cake today. I have a tub of vegan cream cheese and all the other fixings. The recipe i have chossen calls for 1 can sweetened condensed milk and im wondering if anyones ever been able to substitue soy milk or creamer for this with good results?
Thanks ive seen that but i dont have any powdered soy milk. I guess ill just have to play with what i do have.
Here is a link to another VegWeb Q&A about that topic that has some helpful links to different recipes:

I appreciate the links, however most of those call for powdered soy milk which i dont have, and really am not going to rush out and buy. The one that doesnt that i tried calls for sugar which i cannot use, i have to use artifical sweetner, and it didnt condense enough..i have seen plenty that dont call for sweetened condensed milk, but i had my heart set on dreamsicile cheesecake..lol oh well back to the drawing board for me.
thanks again everyone for trying to help
I would try slowly scalding the soy milk over a low/medium flame with your stevia (or Splenda, or whatever else you're using) until it reduces to the consistency you're looking for. It works pretty well; just watch so it won't burn. You'll need about three times the amount that the recipe calls for in order to make it good and rich.
Hey, try coconut milk...it works great in a lot of recipes that call for sweetened condensed milk. Just add stevia or whatever sweetener you use and you're good to go without using powdered milk.
