Soy milk allergy? (Food Allergy/Intolerance)

No, this is not a buy-in to the soy scare ;)  I love soy!  But in the past year I've developed what I think is an allergy to soy milk.  Drinking soy milk gives me terrible sore throats.  Nigari tofu also causes a mild reaction.
More processed soy products like burgers don't cause this problem.
I've lowered my soy intake and have the issue in check; I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

I have not noticed it myself.  You could try not eating any of the offending foods, try rice milk or almond milk or something instead for a cople weeks.  And then try the soy milk again, like one glass or serving.  The you could keep track of any symptoms.  Maybe wait to try the tofu until another time.

Maybe it is an ingredient in the product and not the soy milk itself.  Also, how do you drink it that it bothers you?

Good luck and I hope it works out for you.

Wow, I've been looking for the answers to this question for two years. I get the itchy/throat closing up feeling whenever drinking soymilk or having vegan sour cream, but not with any other burgers or anything. I wish I knew the answer, but I just want you to know I experience the same thing
