Q about frying tofu

I was wanting to fry tofu, and have not idea how to do it.
I usually bake my food and have never really fried anything.
How much oil do I need in the pan?
What type of oil should I use?
What do I do with the oil after?
How do I prevent a kitchen fire?
What do I do if I end up with a grease fire (while I'm waiting for the fire brigade)?
Will baking soda put out a grease fire?

You see why I always bake?

Don't worry!!!  You'll be fine.  I don't deep fry anything, cause I'm cheap and that uses quite a bit of oil or shortening.  I always shallow fry it in vegetable or canola oil, because they have a higher smoke point than olive or sesame oil.  As for how much, I just coat the bottom of the skillet with oil.  When I need to drain oil from a pan, I just use an empty can to collect the excess, let cool, then take it out to the garbage.  As for fire:  I'd think you'kk be ok since you are so worried about it.  Don't heat the oil on high heat, don't wear really loose clothing, do tie long hair back and DO NOT allow children/pets/clumsy spouses near the stove.  Also, drain and press your tofu really, really well.  Then pat it dry.  Tofu is really wet and it splatters like crazy when you fry it, so you might want to get one of those screens that sits on top of the pan.  I just use a lid to shield myself when I flip the tofu, but cleanup stinks.  I *think* baking soda works on grease fires, but I'm not sure.  Definately keep a big lid around, and if your oil ignites, lid the pan and kill the flame.  And evacuate the house while waiting for the fire dept.  LOL.  You'll be fine.
