Pastis?

Do any of you vegans, especially you french ones, know if pastis particularily Pernod Ricard is vegan?  Thanks so much!

Pastis is distilled from fennel and liquorice root. It's first-cousin to absinthe. I'm pretty sure it's all-vegan. It is ALSO strong enough to take wallpaper off the wall at 40 paces, which is why it's never served straight-up but always in water. They call it "fly" (is that where "Spanish fly" came from, I wonder), "un jaune" (a yellow) or "a yogurt" because it does look like full-cream yogurt when you put water in it.

It's very popular in Marseilles, which is famous for being a roughneck seaport, so it's seen as the drink of tough guys. Do be careful!  ;)

I am fairly sure Pastis (in general) it is vegan, as I have seen it called for as an ingredient in many vegan recipes.
