Goji berry tea?

A while back I bought some goji berries in the cold case at my Asian supermarket. I asked the girl what to do with them and she recommended making a decoction: that is, boiling them for a few minutes and then letting the water stand. Maybe I didn't use enough berries but it doesn't look or taste much like the tisanes/infusions/decoctions I've made from other plants. The berries plumped up some, and I wonder...should I keep them and eat them, like with other fruit or on cereal or so?

I bought them once from the health store and just ate them straight from the bag. I thought they were a little strange tasting at first, but they were so addicting. I couldn't stop eating them and contemplating the taste.

I'll have to try them as-is. The decoction smelled odd and was viscous in the mouth...and wouldn't go down. UGH, if I may say so!  :P

goji berries have such a distinct taste!  I would say eat them, or maybe use them to make something...i have dried goji berries and was thinking about putting them in scones...it will be an interesting taste...I had goji berry tea last week and it tasted fine but then again it was prebought tea there was no soaking of berries involved...

That's so interesting.  My only experience with Goji berries is the unsweetened dried ones.  I like them, but they do have kind of a different taste that makes you go "hmmmm...." every time you eat them.  All I know is that they are supposed to be super ridiculously good for you.  It would definitely be interesting to bake them into something or put them in oatmeal!  I might try that.

I too had heard how good they are for you...having poured the stinky viscous stuff down the tubes, I proceed to catch a hideous cold...have I been struck down by the irate Gods of Goji??  ;)
