Fresh herbs and measurements: Help!

How do you do measurement with freshly picked herbs? How do I know how many leaves to pluck for 2 teaspoons, or 3 cups?

If I were to just crumple up the leaves untill it filled up a certain amount of space in a measuring device that seems to be way too much...

Does no one really know how to measure fresh herbs?  :'(

If you are measuring in cups that's prettymuch how you do it. Most recipes are looking for a 'packed' measurement, such as for pesto or the like. If the recipe is asking for a smaller amount like a tablespoon. chop the herb and then measure somewhat loosely. Sorry I didn't pick up on this question earlier. Hope this helps. :)
