Food Only a Vegetarian would eat...........

So I was having lunch with a meat-eating coworker, and brought out my "snobby joe" sandwich. It's in Veganomicon but basically is a sloppy joe made out of lentils. I loved it, she said "what the heck is that....".......and I proceeded to explain, and she didn't warm up to the idea at all, and then I said "chalk this up to one of those things only a vegetarian would eat". ;D
Sometimes there are foods I think that only I can eat, and I shouldn't share with others. My kale-brussel sprout-seitan dish over quinoa is one of those two.
What's things do you eat, that you'd only share with a fellow vegan?
I've got it Tweety, for me anyway! "Queen Black Bean!" And you can be my King! :-* :-*
Oh my sweetness, read my profile, we might have to fight over who could be Queen............LOL

I knew you'd say that, just thought I'd give you the chance to! OK, so now it's BestBud shirts: Queen Black Bean and Black Bean Queen?? (Well, slap mah mouth!) >:D
w00t!
Tofu. Enough said.
I actually got a co-worker to eat some avocado inari that I had brought in to work from a local japanese resturaunt, even after I told her it had tofu in it. She said it tasted really good, but she couldn't get over the texture. I was rather surprised she ate it.
My co-workers don't understand how I can eat pizza without cheese on it.
yeah ^ ^ ^ this too. Funny thing was when I went to Italy loads of the traditional little pizza pllaces had most of their pizzas minus cheese!
Very few people in my life will try anything that is a meat/dairy analog. My girlfriend loves tofu but only because nothing will ever compete with steak in her world. We had a cookout a few weeks ago and I was grilling some Tofurkey brats. The meat eaters were curious, the other veg people and me were quite protective. After we had pooled some money to spend $5 freaking dollars on four brats, we weren't really interested in sharing with the meatheads anyway. Of course, one of the meat-brat people was trying to flip the veg brats and basically threw one of them into the fire. Everyone laughed and he said, "well maybe if you had a real brat it wouldn't stick!" Um, no, I thought: if I had a "real brat" I'd probably try to put it somewhere and I bet you wouldn't enjoy that experience too much. The animal fat would sure help it from sticking though.
I guess you could say sometimes I feel like I'm done with trying to feed them veg stuff :)
Oh, and the ad on the side of this page reminded me that I would never give Primal Strips to a meat eater. They are quite unappealing texturally. I won't even eat them.

Oh i so understand that, they don't realize how damn expensive and how little you get for your money, and everyone wants to try it, and spit it out/make faces and tell you how much your meal is/does suck (which makes it so enjoyable) and if there is much left after they all had their samples you may be able to eat. i wish i had a veg friend to at least pool money together with to buy a veggie brat.
Well, I don't like Nutritional yeast or meat analogs myself!
Years ago, I got a free pacakge of veggie dogs. Cooked them for my omni Mom & myself. She said "Yuck! they don't taste anything like meat!" At the same time, I said "Yuck! they taste just like meat!"
I generally like food that's designed to be vegan, not imitations of meat or cheese.

This baffles my family as well. That and my homemade fake cheezes. I used to hate nooch and didn't even like real cheese all that much, but this past year or so I've been making a lot of good vegan cheez substitutes.
I eat rice cakes with mustard and nooch as a snack. I bet omnis would thats hella weird.
I have one that even most veg*ns won't eat but it is delicious (in my opinion). . .
Huitlacoche!
