Does my almond milk taste weird because....

I used raw almonds or because they have been in my freezer for a little while (like 2-3mo) ???
I made my first batch of homemade almond milk last night and even after adding agave and vanilla it has a funky aftertaste and smell.
Any ideas?

What kind of container were they in?  I've read the best way to store almonds is in the freezer, but they could have picked up funky odors from your freezer.

The other possibility is that they were rancid before going into the freezer (assuming you haven't used this batch before). 

You could try smelling the raw almonds (or eating one, if you're brave) to find out if it's in the almonds or something else.  I assume you refrigerated the almond milk after making it?
