Baby shower recipe ideas

I am hosting a baby shower for a co-worker of mine.  Since the invite list is mainly other co-workers, we are going to be having the shower in a large conference room with very limited electrial outlet use.  I would like to have some appetizer type food for this shower.  It will be between 3-5pm so not around people's lunch time but I would still like to have some snacks.
I need recipes that don't need to be kept warm and easy to transport.  (I don't mind cooking something as long as it tastes good served cold.)  There will probably be about 25-30 people in attendance.

Thanks for your help VegWebbers!!!

Finger sandwiches!
The best part of any shower is the finger sandwich tray.

You could make cucumber, tomato, asparagus, chickpea salad, etc

Yummy!  Got recipes to this stuff?  I've never made stuffed mushrooms before.  Nor have I made veggie finger sandwiches.  I'm getting hungry now... ;D

Yeah, my vote was going to be little round cucumber sandwiches and such. I remember helping my mother make those waaaaaay back in the day. I think she made those with cream cheese instead of mayo and sprinkled paprika on them for color. We also made "olive spread" finger sandwiches which you could do with Olivada or you could food process green olives with pimiento. Sliced Roma tomatoes on rounds with Vegenaise and a sprinkle of onion powder would be yummy, too. Vary the shapes from rectangular to round and the breads from white to whole wheat to a specialty bread (this is a party after all).

Finger sandwiches bring back nice memories (I got to eat the white bread crusts dipped in mayo--a gourmet treat.  :D )

Go to www.bettycrocker.com put in Italian stuffed mushrooms. I don't know but to me that recipe knocked my socks off.

I saw one recipe for finger sandwiches in www.vegcooking.com
Put in chilled finger sandwiches.

At my cousin's shower I printed up pictures of marzipan babies: http://www.camilleallen.com/

My family has a wacky sense of humor so they laughed and laughed at these. Another cousin even asked if they were jelly-filled....ewwww!!! I guess it would be a bad option for coworkers though.

don't forget cookies!  everybody loves cookies! :D

i made the maple walnut cookies from VWAV (though they may not be marzipan babies (those are wild!!)) and brought them in to work... about 10 non-veg peeps gobbled them up and to date they remain the best cookies i have ever made.  might be good for fall flavor?

I don't have any recipes for your baby shower but I can suggest an excellent game for you to play. It's pretty simple. Everyone at the shower has to drink a shot every single time someone says the word "cute".

  Bottoms up.
