are wheaties vegan?

I have been wondering for a while now if Wheaties are a vegan cereal. I see no suspicious ingredients listed but PETA doesn't have it listed as an "accidentally vegan" cereal. But then again, rumor has it that PETA's list may need updated because some companies on there, such as Duncan Hines, no longer carry "accidentally vegan" products. Does anyone here eat Wheaties? I don't see how it could not be vegan if it's just wheat. *shrugs!* ::) ???
i felt the same way about rice krispie treats and then someone told me that the vitamins were animal derived...perhaps it could be the same with wheaties?
is there a way to determine from the ingredients if the vitamins are animal-derived?
I don't know about Wheaties since I've never eaten them, I just wanted to comment about the rice krispie treats. The college I attend has Rice Krispies listed on their "Vegan" food list. I laughed when I read that and the rest of their so called list. I was curious as to which carnivore nutritionist had written it and how much they'd been bribed. I worked for Kellogg's for 8 and 1/2 years and there's damn few if any of their Kellogg products and not many of their other brand names (Worthington, Eggo, Kashi, etc.) that would be considered vegan using the loosest of vegan "guidelines/standards". I can't tell you if Kellogg's uses animal-derived vitamins since I worked in accounting, but if you want a guess, if the animal-derived vitamins are cheaper then that's what is probably in the box. I'd say call customer service and ask. Make them stop and think. They'll definately have to look that one up. lol
but they don't post ingredients.
The main problem with cereals is usually the source of Vitamin D. If you contact the company, they can tell you the source of it. If it also contains B-12, you'll want to ask about that.

According to this list, Rice Krispies ARE vegan. Or were you saying that the rice krispies treats weren't vegan? I know the treats aren't due to their marshmallow content but why would PETA list Rice Krispies on their list then? Even more confusing, some say Grape Nuts aren't vegan but PETA says they are and while PETA has Raisin Bran listed as vegan, I know for a fact from the box ingredients (it shows nonfat milk listed as an ingredient) that it's not a vegan product. This is so way too confusing. :-[
There is a disclaimer at the bottom of PETA's "Accidentally Vegan" list.
It reads:

Also the difference in the accidentally vegan Raisin Bran, could be that one was Post and the other Kellogg?? I'll check next time I'm at the store.
