Amchoor powder?

OK so I've done it again...went to the Asian market and came home with something totally new. Amchoor powder, which apparently is unripe mango powder. What does it taste like? Sour, bitter, spicy? Anyone know?

What do you use it for? It was only 1 Euro for the package so I brought it home. Silly me.
Hey, NagaJolokia Addict--front and centre!!  ;)b

Are you joking?
Basmati rice and Methi do not go together.

Actually, I suggested it for kalonji not methi. I haven't actually tried either with basmati rice, it was just a suggestion for kalonji seeds as it is difficult to make naan perfectly w/o a tandoori oven. And if anyone disagrees and can make awesome naan w/o one, I want the recipe!!!! :)
Just trying to be helpful!

I just talked to the Himalayan chef again yesterday, and he also suggested kalonji as a seasoning for fried potatoes. I'd add a little turmeric, onion, lemon, and cilantro. Yum!! ;)b

I would  suggest you to add cumin seeds powder also  in dressing. This is apart from a little cumin seeds in seasoning. But please add them last.
