Honestly, I've got nothing in mind and no meet up to propose, but I thought I'd get a topic started and at least find out how many VegWeb freaks are in this great state-o-mine.

Yep, I lived there for... 6 years. I'll get to see my puppies!! My folks are actually in Lewis Center.

Yup. I live in Ohio. I knew that I was pretty much the only vegetarian I knew, but didn't realize it was this bad!

one of the other vegans i knew just moved to chicago...so we lost one. ::) bummer.
I live near Youngstown, but already have plans this Thanksgiving I'm sorry to say. I didn't know there was anyone else from Ohio on here.
Oh, and by the way Hocking Hills kicks ass! That's where I got engaged. Has anyone else been ziplining there?
I really want to go zip lining at Hocking Hills! A lot of people I know have done it...none of them are vegan though. I am in the Akron area. For those of you really eager to meet other vegans there are 2 groups on meetup.com. One from Cleveland and one in Akron. They seem to be pretty active...unfortunately, I never make it to any of their events.

How about the spring or sum-sum-summer time? Everyone seems to have some good vibes about Hocking Hills.
I'm going to throw a date out there... April 17th, Old Man's Cave covered pavillion, pot luck (vegan!) lunch...

This isn't a specific event and I don't live in Ohio, but I just ran a couple searches and there wasn't anything posted yet about this on vegweb, but there was just an undercover investigative video released exposing appalling cruelty at Conklin Dairy Farms in Plain City, Ohio. I'm not sure where else to post this...it's kind of an event happening in Ohio? (Hopefully if this is in the wrong spot somebody can fix it? New here) I tried to watch the video but just couldn't get past the first 3 seconds. :'( It is beyond...I don't even know what it's beyond. It's awful. If you live in Ohio and you haven't yet, please go to www.ohiohumane.com and find out more about the ballot initiative for November working on getting stronger animal protection laws going in Ohio. They need 600,000 signatures just to get on the ballot, and there's information on the site about when and how Ohio residents can sign it and other events that are going on.
I'm betting most people know about this already but I'm just so sick after watching 3 seconds of the video I had to do something. :-\
