ATL Get Together: The time is nigh.

C'mon dudes and dudettes, let's discuss this.

Picnic.
RHPS.
Hike.
Movie night.
Playing Cranium.
Nintendo party.
Foodz.
Going to a hardcore / punk show.
Making a porno.

Whatever it is, let's get to it.
;)b

I'm between 3-4 hours from atlanta too.  I can't believe I haven't seen this thread.  I have a hectic work schedule, but I an definitely interested in meeting sometime!

I know there aren't any concrete plans, but I'm already excited.

This isn't immediate, but I think that we should have a picnic during spring. I don't know what to do now.

oh yeah, there'll be more ATL-area VW shenanigans for sure!! Rocky Horror is just one thing I want to happen before it gets too cold to walk to the theater in costume...
(and don't worry, Court, You don't have to dress any more slutty than You want to)  ;)b

see CK's initial post--there are all kinds of cool things we could do. Not to mention all the great restaurants We have in the area.....

I'm so excited to have more people on board!

oh, another suggestion, along the lines of an outdoor excursion.......

I know it's too chilly to swim right now, but....since We're pretty close by and all.....I've never seen the ocean!

is it possible to make a trip to some beach this time of year? gas prices are quite low right now, and I'd be willing to chip in if/when someone volunteers transportation...
we could have a beach picnic! all bundled up in our late-Autumn coats and hats, blankets on the sand, baskets and coolers full of vegan goodies....mmm, I really hope this is possible. I don't want to wait until Spring to finally see an ocean, dudes.

Myrtle Beach is 4 - 6 hours away...

Tybee Island (Savannah) is even closer, and it's rad in the off season.  Like a really small New England town.  Don't know about veg food there, though.

This is actually something that I was already thinking about.  There are so many spots to have one! :)

I can't attend, but I love Jekyll Island in the fall/winter months. I'm not sure how far it is from Atlanta - it's exit 29 off I-95. The rates are pretty cheap for the Day's Inn there (which is not glamourous, but right on the beach).

PPC, where / what were you thinking of going / doing / checking out?

holy shit, yes!

I live in the L5P areaaaa!

dues, I'd say We should totally go to Planet Bombay (on Moreland Ave, next to all the other cool L5 stuff).
best. Indian food. EVER. (and inexpensive to boot!)

Alibabba's has excellent falafel, and they have a hookah bar!

...except that I'm starting my pseudo-Rawliday adventure tomorrow, and I'm greatly limiting my intake of cooked food, keeping it mostly to whole grains and legumes. but I could have dal or somethin', I s'pose.

We could also hit up a coffee shop, too. Aurora is right next to Junkman's Daughter, and they have the cheapest-yet-tastiest coffee and iced tea around. Plus the atmosphere is totally groovy, with all kinds of art on the walls and this general bohemian vibe...

oh! and there are a few really bitchin' shops along Moreland and Euclid, including this new-agey/hippie/holistic/crystals and incense kinda store that's pretty neat.

AND there are a few music venues and a theater nearby, so there's bound to be something going on one of those nights....

Tuesday-Thursday is busy for me. I have class until 7:45 Tuesday and Thursday, and a band concert on Wednesday night. :( :( :(

Court, I wish Your school wasn't out of my traveling range. I'd dig a good band concert about now.

but wait! maybe if the other folks have transportation and are up for going to the concert, too......  :hrmm:

The Plaza Theater
proudly presents

REPO! The Genetic Opera

showing NOW
through next Thursday, Dec. 4

tickets are only $8.00!

This is one amazing opportunity, folks.....REPO is only playing in select theaters at the time, and due to the overwhelming response to the single-night screening at the Plaza last weekend, they're bringing it back for a trial run...if enough support is shown during this week, they'll make The Plaza a regular venue for REPO! ....which is totally cool, since the show has such a limited release (Lion's Gate Films and the critics don't think this show has an audience. bah!) and a nearly complete lack of advertising and publicity.

consider me an avid REPO Army member....I must get the word out about this show, because YOU all deserve to have a rockin' time with me and the rest of the REPO Army!

........just a taste:

c'mon now, ATL-area VWers!

REPO! The Genetic Opera is only playing at The Plaza for a few more nights (as far as I know right now), so We oughta get together soon to catch the awesome before it flies away!

...the RHPS night is still on for any Friday evening Y'all want to get together, too....but Y'know, that's every damn Friday, so...
