Any chicago vegans?

I'm not sure where you people hide but I was hoping to find some support out here. I've recently been working on becoming a full vegan and if you're in the city please drop a line woo!

I'm on my way there today for a show tomorrow.....Won't be much time to hang...but if you see 2 big bio-diesel buses around town tonight/tomorrow...wave hi! :)
I just moved away... I do suggest Amitabul restaurant if you can get to it, wow wow. Vegan and amazing.

Maybe I'll get to visiting you one day soon, before school starts back up. My brother used to have a few roommates that are vegans. They live downtown... wish I could help more, but I'm just a suburban brat ;)

The belgian kid I hosted is probably going since he asked what I was doing tomorrow. Venetian night downtown? I think I may have to work until 8:00 hmph! We got this street sale thing all weekend so I probably can't check it out. Damn, of all weekends :( I hope you make it down again so I can bring you chocolate next time.
I live in Colorado, but was in Chicago a few weeks ago, and had one of the best vegan meals ever at Chicago Diner. I am a chef, so i NEVER get to eat a vegan meal that I don't prepare!
I ordered the "chicken" caesar salad and had some tofu chocolate cheesecake for dessert. These were superb...I could have done without the dumplings (or potstickers?) which were o.k. but nothing special.
My cousin really liked the enchilada pie and choco-pb milkshake, and my mom loved the hummos and pita, etc. platter.
Everything on the menu is either vegan, or can be made vegan. It was freaky to have so many choices! :)
Glad to hear you had a decent experience there. I'm going there either this thursday or weekend with someone who's visiting chicago from here. I'll be sure to choose with confidence!

Where is your vegan chocolate shop here in this city? I have to send my drum tech out later to find me a new charger/plug for my laptop.....I left mine back at the hotel in Ohio (duh)! :o I still have some battery left....but I won't for long if he can't find me a new one! I'll have him stop by and pick up some sweets to "squirrel away" on the bus!!!

I'm obviously not beanthai but we've spoken about her store since my son lives in Chicago. The name of the store is bon bon Chicago and it's at 5410 North Clark. Hope this info gets to you in time. :D
It's not all vegan at the shop. We have about 10-15 each week items such as ginger buddhas, garam masala buddhas, solid dark, some with cacao nibs, fruit and things with floral pieces.
It's at 5410 North Clark street. This is located in 'andersonville' and you can get there by driving on Lake Shore Drive and exiting at foster we are only 5 blocks west from the lake and two blocks north. Or you can take a redline train and walk west or the Clark bus. We are closing at 7 p.m.
We might be out of somethings today though...it's been busy with this sidewalk sale going on.

Thanks for posting the address. By time it was posted I was off line until the following day. Since we were playing out at Toyota Park....I highly doubt my roadie would have gone there even if I asked him to. Just getting out of there and back to my hotel in the city was an adventure that night. I'll check it out next time I'm in town...thanks for posting the address!

i've been a vegetarian for four years and vegan for two. i live about an hour away from downtown chicago, but go up there a lot for concerts and some delicious vegan food.
