Chocolate "Shake"

What you need:

1/4 cup nondairy milk (I use a very thick nut milk)
5 dates
1 banana
2 tablespoons cocoa (or carob) powder
about 6-7 ice cubes

What you do:

1. For home made nut milk, use 1/8 cup nuts and enough water with them to make 1/4 cup total, and blend until smooth. For store bought, just pour in the blender.
2. Blend with dates until relatively smooth. Blend with banana and cocoa until smooth.
3. Blend with ice until smooth.
I always do it in steps because it is easier on my blender and I get a really smooth shake! If you have a Vitamix, I am sure you don't need to worry about it.

SO HOW'D IT GO?

YUM!  I used vanilla soy milk, three Medjool dates and one heaping tablespoon and one regular tablespoon of raw carob powder.  Too, I felt that the universe would implode if I didn't throw in three strawberries.  WOWOWOWOW!  I am going to make this all the time now!

So good with carob and a spoonful of caro, a coffee sub that's naturally caffeine free.  Mocha au lait-ish!

Hespedal:  I don't have a particularly sweet tooth but I will try it will a date or two.

shea- i guess i am a little cocoa obsessed  ;D

kikilola- the dates are what sweeten it! you should try it with (i guess with carob it wouldn't be as big of a deal).
