Feeling Ancient

I love reading everyone's posts, and then I go visit profiles, because it's fun to learn about the people who have such great personalities.

BUT....

Every profile I've read has belonged to twenty-somethings.  Are there any ancient ones lurking besides me?  Say, over forty?  Or am I the only one heading for menopause?

Just curious...

I guess I can join the Old Fart Club.  Im 42 or 43, I forget.  But I do know I was born in 1968 so I usually have to do the math to figure it out.  I work with about 20 people in the 20's and 30's which keeps me young.  Also try to stay active with kayaking, mountain biking....

I went kayaking for a few summers, loved it, developed a kayaking gym routine that I still do, but haven't been kayaking since.  I've never tried mountain biking.  The mountain biker that I know is so freaking fit that it intimidates me (he doesn't, but the fitness level he has for his sport does).

kayaking... in a long skinny boat, on big open water... is like being a flying mermaid! love, love, love it...

cycling = on my agenda... turn 40 this spring; feel that a good fast road bike or some 100mm inline skates would be a good present, if anyone's shoppin'....

I tried the inline skate thing.  Wasnt as coordinated as i used to be.  So what did i do??  I ran out and bought a hand held sail to ride the wind with the skates.  I guess I thought i was younger than i really am.  Needless to say, that lasted once.  After I recovered from my injuries, Im back to just the kayak and the bike.  I actually get up at 6am, when no one is out ( jet ski's and motor boats)  and do my thing as the sun rises.  Now that its winter here though, ive considered the cross country skiing thing, but find myself just sitting on my arse watching the food network instead.

Yeah... one thing I like about kayaking: water is so much more forgiving than asphalt, when you fall on it!

Lots of water around here.  My friend said the other day we're going to kayak because he moved to a place that has a nice spot on Tampa Bay to kayak.  We'll see......

I'll be fifty in less than a week.  It's killing me.  Even the fact that my husband will turn 65 the day after I turn 50 doesn't comfort!  But I sure hope 50 turns out to be better than 49.

I hope you're feeling better by now.  Trust me being 50 feels so much better than 49.  I hated 49...but when I finally turned 50 it was a relief because I spent a year in angst about it.  LOL
