You mean from Yele Haiti? There was something wrong with the finances for his charity but finance people said it was something that normally happens to up and coming charities. He has had problems with his own personal taxes though too. I don't think he knows how to manage money and if he can't handle his own finances, I don't know how he expects to handle an entire country's. If I remember correctly, you also have to have lived in Haiti for 5 straight years right before you run and Jean has lived in the US for the last 5 years. They had Sean Penn on talking about it and I think he pretty much summed it up great. I'll see if I can find his interview.

Yeah, I don't know if I feel so strongly against it but I am really skeptical about his motives and I'm concerned as to where he will be getting his campaign money from. I think he said that he's been doing a lot of shows and stuff lately and that will be paying for it. Even if he is running purely just to help Haiti, I don't think he's ready for this at all.

Don't know if it's a good idea, but how can he NOT get elected? He's like Haiti's Bob Marley, everybody loves him there! I know he is a great supporter of humanitarian organizations, a great musician and a very intelligent person. But are these the makings of a great politician? One that Haiti needs during it's most desperate hour? I honestly can't say.

I've recently read that he will be unable to run as president because he hasn't lived in the country for five years prior to running. I believe he will be appealing this decision but I certainly think that it wouldn't be a bad thing if he couldn't run. Haiti needs a really solid, honest, bureaucrat in office right now to tidy up the mess, not a untested celebrity who can only talk the talk and has no political experience.

I don't know about Wyclef Jean specifically....but in general I feel that it's dangerous when celebrities start to act like they are experts on something besides their craft/celebrity status.
Angelina Jolie strikes me as someone who could be an expert due to all the humanitarian work she's done over the years.

Yeah, it's been announced that he's unable to run now which he should have already known. I think this is a perfect example of why he isn't ready. I think if he really, honestly cares about Haiti than he will go back and do everything that he needs to do and work on the country as a simple citizen or lower government official and then run for president.
Most celebrities aren't *just* celebreties and a lot of them have gone to very prestigious schools and are very intelligent and work on other things besides movies, tv, albums, etc. Most of the time we never even know about it until we either do our own deep research or until the mainstream media decides it wants to talk about it.
