VegWeb Potluck! - Success
Hi folks, after seeing all the New Englanders in owalkerjillo's Where are we all from thread: http://vegweb.com/index.php?topic=18335.0, I thought - you know what we need? We need a potluck!
So how about it Massachusetts, New Hampshire Rhode Island folks? If you want to pick a date (probably a Saturday late morning). i would love to have attended this :( I've been so busy with school recently I didn't even have time to check my messages to know this was happening. If there's another one I'll be sure and try and attend :)

I'm so angry I couldn't go! Usually my parents don't stick around for the Sunday of Parent's weekend, but they did for some reason this year...Anyways, I took them to a veg*n restaurant and forced them to order something vegan. At the end of the meal they both admitted it was delicious!

BP and I had a blast, and right now I am working on the video (without BP's help... asleep, I mean, really!) so that I can post a link. It is a bit long, so it is taking a while to upload to my photobucket page. I'm shooting for two parts, so hopefully I can do the second half at another time.

i went heavy on the cumin, chili powder and vinegar.
for veggies, i lightly sauteed carrots, zucchini, shrooms, gr. onion and added a can of fire roasted tomatoes and pine nuts at the end.
BP... your cupcakes got the eyes wide, head nodding, "mmmm" approval from my omni bro! especially the tofu *gasp* icing!
and major kudos for the zucchini bread dinkfeet!! definately post that recipe! :P
celtkat and book mama... yay! for the pasta salad!!thanks. (and dang it, i forgot to take some biscuits!)
and cammi, i cant believe i enjoyed kalamata olives so much...that never happens! haha. we all loved those pockets, and i even had to give one up to my bro as well.
at least i still have nana bread for breakfast! :)

Bwahahaha! Although I'm disappointed that Camillus is so threatened by my pumpkin prowess that he had to incorporate some un-truths into the video, I did enjoy the comments about puppy on puppy action! Cody made it home safely, and to be honest, hasn't stopped sleeping..see

Turns out there are plenty of folks who couldn't make it for one reason or another (geography being a surprisingly important factor ::) ), so we should have another, but I'm not volunteering to call all of the orchards in Massachusetts and explaining veganism again. :P Someone else should take up the torch.
Ok, first of all I'm so jealous of the vegwebbing bonding you all got to do.
Second, Camillus, I heart you-- you really do have mad video making/editing skills and you're hella funny!!
Third, I can't stop laughing about the "puppy on puppy" action sequence-- I would've liked more ;)
Fourth, I'm jealous that I don't live out East. (is that the same as 1, technically?)
Fifth, I'm so excited for you all that you had fun!! That's awesome!!

ha ha, the torch!! i would vote for ALB, then the ROC and western NY people can travel down. 4 hours from ROC, 3 or so from boston... 0 for me and cammers!! (ha ha ha then we will be on time!!).

For me it wasn't weird at all, except for when I spoke with the lady that works there and she gave me the, "I'd like to eat less meat, but I'm worried about protein" bit. I tried patiently explaining the truth to her, but she ended up walking back inside halfway through my spiel.
Meeting everyone wasn't strange, though BP and I are naturally awkward so all seemed normal to me. Dinkfeet and the others were very funny and outgoing too, and that made it easier for all of us I'm sure. You know, I'm still full and didn't have any dinner. Great food everyone!

I didn't think Cam and Pup were awkward?! It is interesting though to see the difference in how people communicate via written word vs. spoke word. Also interesting to me was that on one hand we were asking the normal chit chat questions for when you first meet someone: where are you from, what do you do, but that was contrasted with the fact that we could make jokes about shared experiences on here.
Mostly I just remember eating three helpings of everyone's food! That, and my dog slept like a rock the rest of the day - other puppies wear him out ;)
Camillus, I have watched the video several times (I'll take any opportunity to get to see CeltKat ;) and, of course to see some of my favorite VegWebbers) but the thing I love seeing most, I think, is how Priskiller (sp?) looks so adoringly at you in your introduction. And she's so relaxed. Most kitties don't like to be on their backs unless they choose to be that way. She's a beautiful baby and she obviously knows she's lucky. 8)
Aww so much fun!! Its so cool seeing the vegwebers on camera...they dooooo exist hehe :)
