Vegan Brownies

What you need:

1/4 cup canola oil
1/3 cup water
1 cup organic sugar
1 cup organic unbleached flour
1 tablespoon ground flax seed
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt

What you do:

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Mix wet ingredients in large bowl, then dump in all the dry. Don't over mix.
2. Bake for about 20-25 minutes.
They're supposed to look gooey! You can even add your favorite vegan chocolate chips, add coconut, or nuts!
These are so good and normal tasting my meat-eating family couldn’t tell the difference!!!

SO HOW'D IT GO?

YUM! I used almond milk instead of water, they were SO good!

This came out great!

Excellent tasting, and dead simple to make. I added chopped pieces of baker's chocolate. The result is incredibly fudgy, very chocolatey, just the right amount of sweet perfection.

This recipe was pretty good. I substituted the oil for applesauce, I had to add 2/3 cup of water to make it more batter-y, I also used Special Dark cocoa powder (my favorite!), and I added about a 1/2 cup of walnuts. Over all I would make these again.

These brownies are a huge hit at my house! I swapped the oil for applesauce and half the sugar for stevia.I also added some chocolate chips and doubled the recipe. They turn out moist and delicious!

Although my brownies are still in the oven, I just had to say that adding three Tbs. of water to the ground flax seeds really solves the "too dry" batter problem. My batter looked perfect after that! It didn't feel or look doughy, as other commentators mentioned.

The scene: Valentine's Day eve, and a plan of romancing myself.
What: Vegan Brownies.
The conclusion of this baking spree was the extreme happiness produced from the love from the oven, brownie style. My roommate loved them too.
Thanks for sharing  :)>>> I consider this V-day a huge success

Used an egg replacer instead of the flax seeds. I loved these! I baked them in a muffin pan for 20 minutes. I cut them into bite sized pieces so they're fun to eat. It always seems to be sweeter after the first day so I think it could use a little less sugar next time.

Well I have to say I really didn't like these brownies. I cooked them perfectly, doneness wise, but they lacked any real flavor in our (3 of us) opinions. Maybe I'll play around with it later. I will say I ended up having to add almost 2/3 cup water instead to even get them in the pan, maybe because I used wheat pastry flavor? (needs more water) I dunno.
