SO HOW'D IT GO?

I want to make sweet sweet gooey-chocolatey-brownie covered love to the person who posted this recipe. You just saved me from the biggest chocolate craving ever. I added a little orange peel and orange flavouring to mine, so delicious!
And the best thing is that my Japanese apartment has no oven so these are perfect and so quick to make!
If you are reading these comments and deciding whether to make these or not - just do it!!

I substituted 3/4 cup of unsweetened applesauce for the oil and the banana and used whole wheat flour and brown sugar. I added 1/2 tablespoon of baking powder in and baked it in oven at 350 for 40 minutes with nonstick foil (to avoid greasing the dish)instead of microwaving it. It turned out ok. It tasted like some sort of chocolately fruit bar instead of brownies because of the sour note from the applesauce. The walnut I added on the top before baking keeps on falling off when I picked up the finished brownies/chocolate fruit bars. I think next time I'm going to use a bit more cocoa powder or sugar or maybe even both to cover the sourness and use rice flour instead. I think I'll omit the walnut too. I cut it up into six bars and I think they're about 200 calories per serving each and pretty low fat because I used no oil at all.

i've made this about six or seven times, each time, a little different. perfect, every time. once i replaced the oil with equal amounts of natural peanut butter, and once with applesauce.
i'm eating a bowl of brownies right now, and i completely butchered the recipe. i ran out of regular sugar, so i'm using brown sugar. my amount of flour (whole wheat. i ran out of white, lol) is actually half of that of the cocoa (4 tbsp cocoa and 2 tbsp flour). i like fudgey brownies. i accidentally tripled the amount of baking powder. i only used less than half a tsp of oil. i usually double the vanilla. i completely forget about the salt half the time.
as you can see, i've messed up almost every aspect of the recipe, but it still turns out great.
oh, and i usually microwave less than 20 seconds. i must have a super strong microwave or something, because after 40 seconds, they're much too cakey, almost hard.
i blame this recipe for the recent pound i've gained.  :)

Wow this recipe was great!  I replaced the flour with rice flour though so my girlfriend could enjoy it as well (she's gluten-intolerant) and we both loved it!  It was really fluffy and delicious.  I did however add a bit of vanilla soy milk to the mix as it was really hard and clumpy and was difficult to mix before I did.

I 1/2ed the recipe and the cooking time, came out chewy, and tasted like banana too much. Didn't care for it at all...I haven't found any really good brownie recipes. But I have had great luck with the company GoodBaker that is out of Somerville, MA. They have prepared dry mixes that are awesome. They are about $7 I believe for all prepared packages, I discovered them at the vegetarian convention thing. They have a website so everyone should check them out :)www.goodbaker.com

Wonderful! It is very easy. I used 4oz of applesauce in place of the banana. 4 mins is way too long in this microwave, so I went with 2. Then I topped it with Hershey's Syrup.

As a couple people said, the banana could still be tasted at the end.  I added a scoop of rice dream... and had a brownie banana split. :-)

These are so good and easy to make.  I have to make sure there are always some made now because my non-veg husband asks for them every day.  Thanks!
