Easy, Wholesome, & Indulgent Pancakes
-1/4 cup 100% white whole wheat flour (I use Trader Joe's)
-1/4 cup Indulgent Trail Mix from Aldi's (contains dark and white chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, almonds, peanuts, cashews, and cranberries)
-2 tablespoons dry rolled oats
-1 large banana
-1 tablespoon turbinado cane sugar
-2 tablespoons skim milk
-2 tablespoons chai tea
-Baking powder
-Cinnamon (to taste)
-Vanilla extract (to taste)
-Dash of salt
-1 tablespoon butter substitute to prevent sticking, and to flavor end product
-Smuckers sugar free pancake syrup (optional)
Combine flour, trail mix, oats, banana, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, baking powder, and salt in a medium sized bowl. Stir in milk and chai. Mix well. Grease skillet with butter or butter substitute, until non-stick mode is achieved. Add heat. Pour batter and shape evenly, to about a 1/3 inch thickness (note: smaller pancakes will be easier to flip). For incredibly soft pancakes, flip as soon as it is possible to do so without it falling apart. Remove from heat and add a small amount of butter to taste. I sometimes dip in sugar-free Smuckers syrup, but this really isn't necessary as these pancakes are incredibly sweet and flavorful on their own. Makes 3 medium sized pancakes; enough for two people or one very hungry person. Entire recipe contains 549 calories.
