Buffalo Style Tofu
What you need:
1 pound extra firm tofu, cut into strips 1/4" thick
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1/4 cup nonhydrogenated vegan margarine
1/2 cup hot sauce
What you do:
1. Sprinkle tofu with garlic powder. Spray a thin film of cooking spray on a frying pan.
2. Fry the tofu on high heat, flipping occasionally. It's done when the outside is slightly brown, or there are dark spots on it.
3. Melt the margarine in the microwave, add the hot sauce and stir. When the tofu is done place it in the sauce. Make sure the tofu is covered. If you like it hotter or milder just change the ration of hot sauce to margarine.

SO HOW'D IT GO?
Soooo amazing!!! I make this all the time. I eat it over brown rice that I've added peas and carrots too. I also added a little Gorgonzola cheese to it. Was really good, but I want to get rid of the dairy in my diet. Can anyone suggest some good non-dairy cheese alternatives? I've tried a few, liked some, hated some.
I tried this last night with some kickin spicy bbq sauce, it took like 5 minutes to make- but I wash H ad breaded them or given them more flavor. Either way I turned them into bbq tofu tacos with some fresh flour tortillas, yum!

This is great as a scramble with rosemary hashbrowns! So yummy :D
My family really enjoyed this! We can't take the heat though, so I subbed in an agave/maple syrup blend for half the hot sauce. It was the perfect blend of sweet & spicy. This is definitely a keeper! :)
Ohhhhhh man.
DBF and I definitely just ate the whole block of tofu.
This stuff is DELICIOUS! Paired it with cut up veggies, vegan ranch and some brown rice. I'm thinking next time I make this it will be bowl-style: this on top of steamed broccoli, on top of rice. The rice + hot sauce is a great mix.
These were great! I tossed my tofu strips with a bit of cornstarch and added a sprinkle of garlic salt. Will definitely be making these again!
Ok!! I love this recipe all though I didn't follow it. I took Dijon and egg re placer and tossed tofu in that and then coated the tofu in a mixture of smoked paprika, garlic, dried savory and flour. I then fried the crap out of it until it was good and crispy and tossed it in my sauce... It was soooooo good. In fact a meat eater thought it was chicken. Definitely gonna make again!!
I forgot to mention that I also fried the breaded pieces in some olive oil and baked both breaded and plain tofu for about 30 minutes.
This was amazing...as a previous post, the only modification I made was to add about a tablespoon of brown sugar to the sauce mixture. I also breaded half of the tofu, and left the other half plain. I served it with celery sticks with some Tofutti sour cream mixed with some Tofutti garlic and herb cream cheeze. Thank you for posting this yummy recipe.
