Vegan Cheese Substitute

What you need:

1/2 stick margarine (I use willow run)
1/4 cup white flour
1/2 cup nutritional yeast flakes
2 teaspoons garlic powder or powdered veggie broth
2-3 tablespoons tamari (to taste)
2 cups boiling water (more depending on how thin you want sauce)

What you do:

Melt margarine in sauce pan.
Stir in flour.
Add one cup boiling water.
Stir in nutritional yeast.
Add more water, garlic powder and tamari.
Stir over heat until thoroughly mixed (no lumps!).
Add water as needed/preferred.
Sauce will thicken as it cools.
This recipe is great for everything you would want cheese on! I use it for pizza, mac and cheese, lasagna, scalloped potatoes, on baked potatoes and more!! Enjoy!!!!

I added more nutritional yeast to make it a bit thicker (I looooove nutritional yeast though!),  put it on sliced potatoes and baked it with some onion and it was awesome! Great recipe!
